SWAM String Quartet for Divisimate Micro

Four voices to four instruments. That's what Divisimate Micro is best at. There may be no single application that it is more perfect for than to build a completely playable classic string quartet from individual instruments. Two violins, a viola and a cello from the SWAM Solo Strings by Audio Modeling serve as the ensemble that is driven by Divisimate Micro in this free little starter template. All the instruments were balanced and positioned in a room with the built-in room simulation software Ambiente.

We have built this string quartet using the SWAM Solo Strings for 6 popular Daws: Cubase, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Studio One, Reaper and Digital Performer.

Cubase

This project should be pretty much plug and play. Open it up, make sure to select your keyboard (or the Nextmidi Merger Port) as an input on the Divisimate Micro track and record enable all four tracks. The only thing to keep in mind is that as you first open it, you need to go to "Studio -> Audio Connections..." and connect your audio interface under "Outputs" in order to receive any sound.

Logic Pro X

This project should be pretty much plug and play. Open it up, make sure to select your keyboard (or the Nextmidi Merger Port) on the Divisimate Micro track and record enable all four tracks.

Studio One

Follow our Quickstart for Studio One to set up at least the first four Divisimate Ports in Studio One. Make sure that they are named precisely as “Divisimate Port XX”. Then open the file project file with Studio One.

It is be possible that you need to reconnect the MIDI ports and re-select the Divisimate ports 01 through 04 as inputs for the tracks. Once you save the template now somewhere, you won’t have to go through this process again, when you want to use the template the next time. Then make sure to select your keyboard (or the Nextmidi Merger Port) as an input on the Divisimate Micro track and record enable all four tracks. Now you should be ready to play.

Ableton Live

This project should be pretty much plug and play. Open it up, make sure to select your keyboard (or the Nextmidi Merger Port) on the Divisimate Micro track and record enable all four tracks.

Digital Performer 11

This project should be pretty much plug and play. Open it up, make sure to select your keyboard (or the Nextmidi Merger Port) on the Divisimate Micro track and record enable all four tracks.

Reaper

If you are on Windows your port assignments may load in the wrong order as you first open up this project. Make sure to assign Port 1 to Port 4 from top to bottom on Violin 1 to Cello. Apart from this, the project should be pretty much plug and play. Open it up, make sure to select your keyboard (or the Nextmidi Merger Port) on the Divisimate Micro track and record enable all four tracks.
